HOW TO TIE YOUR BELT

The belt ranking system allows for a short term goal oriented process. This allows the student to gauge their progress in levels that they can recognize and be recognized for. The ranks start as “Kyu” ranks below Black belt (Mudansha). White belt through Brown belt starts at 10th Kyu (white Belt) and goes down to 1st Kyu (first Brown). Black Belt ranks (Yudansha) go from 1st Dan to 10th Dan.

 

White

The beginning Student holds the widest view of Karate. Without all the confusion of the training, the white belts mind is closest to the Masters mind. The beginners training is the most important training in Karate.

Yellow

As a Gold belt the student starts putting the basics together and compile the fundamental movements and basic Kata understanding

Purple

The purple belt level starts the students study of more complicated hand and foot combinations, along with kicking and moving combinations along the floor with more Kata training.

Blue

At the Blue belt level, you continue on with the Pinon Kata and Yakusoku Kumite as the developement of more advanced movement and new Kobudo is introduced

Green

The green belt has three levels, the 6th 5th and 4th Kyu ranks. The Passai kata are taught at this Level. Multiple combinations of hand and feet techniques are taught along with Kumite techniques.

Brown

Brown belt has three levels. 3rd, 2nd and 1st kyu. The advanced kata are taught. The culmination of the students training becomes more evident with their level of dedication and determination to advance their skills to Black Belt level.

Black

Black belt is the end of one Journey and the beginning of another. A black belt has an unwavering responsibility to conduct himself as a person of nobel character in all things and at all times. To set the example and lead the way.
